When it comes to managing your investments, the added value that MPC brings to the table is our proprietary portfolio management process. We do not believe in creating autopilot portfolios and checking in once a year to see how things are doing. In fact, we believe the traditional buy and hold approach to investment management may contain much more risk then you may think. That doesn't mean we don’t seek out investments that we can hold for the long term.  Ultimately, this is ideal and one of our primary goals. However, there are times when pro-actively managing an investment portfolio is the most prudent approach. We call this advance and protect. We want to grow your portfolio when conditions are ideal, we want to protect your portfolio when they are not. Remember, however, that no investment strategy can assure success or guarantee against loss.

MPC’s proprietary pro-active investment management strategy is a three-staged process specifically designed to meet the needs of our clients. From beginning to end, the process is pro-active, not reactive; it is measurable, accountable, and includes: finding investments, managing investments, and selling investments.

The Process

Stage 1: Finding Opportunities

• Where are the investment opportunities today?
• Are the opportunities that are available suitable for my needs?
• How do I gain access to new opportunities?

We believe there are always opportunities in the investment world. Finding them involves knowing where to look, how to analyze, and how to execute. When we find a new opportunity, we help our clients answer these questions and determine the best course of action to address their goals.

Stage 2: Risk Management

• What happens with new information that may affect our investments?

After the initial investment decision has been made and the trade completed; on-going monitoring is necessary to ensure that our expectations are being met. New information will inevitably affect our investments and may affect our initial expectations, so all investments are monitored and managed pro-actively. There are many different risk management strategies that we are able to utilize to mitigate the risk of our investments on the overall portfolio. At MPC, we believe in utilizing risk management strategies in any portfolio we manage.

Stage 3: Sell Strategy

• When do I sell an investment?
• If an investment meets my expectations, then what?

Selling an investment may be just as difficult of a process as making the initial purchase.  While we would like to find investments that we can buy and hold for the long term, occasionally there will be circumstances that may negatively affect our investments and require us to take action.  When an investment meets our expectations the management of that investment changes.  At MPC, our selling decisions ensure that what began as an opportunity doesn't turn into a losing proposition.


The most important factor in our agreement with you is communication. No matter what is happening with the financial markets, we want you to be informed. We strive to ensure that we are transparent with you every step of the way with your investments. We send out frequent portfolio updates on our positions, the economy, and market actions which all have an affect on your portfolio. We are available at all times to address your concerns with investing. We invest with you.

We Share The Ride

AT MPC, we pride ourselves on being independent strategy producers, not product sellers. We partner with you. As your advisor and partner, we believe we should share your same risks and rewards. Our fees are based on how we perform for you. As your investments’ value increases or decreases, our fees follow suit. In short, when you succeed, we succeed. Your investment strategy is reviewed each month by the MPC principals while utilizing unbiased research to ensure we’re doing everything possible to potentially optimize performance.
